In Ukraine, the new requirements for the installation of gas boilers
The changes affected only new (primary) gas boiler installations in residential premises. In new residential buildings in Ukraine, placement of domestic gas heat generators with open combustion chambers is not allowed. Such rules are provided for by the new state-building regulations (GOS) for designing gas domestic heat generators in new residential buildings, said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development of Ukraine Gennady Zubko.
“Often, disregard for the rules of installation and operation of gas heat generators leads to tragic consequences — several floors take off into the air as a result of explosions. The new GOS will put an end to this problem,” Zubko said.
Zubko explained that with the entry into force of new homing installations it is allowed to install heating and hot water in individual and multi-family residential buildings up to three floors of heat generators with a capacity of up to 30 kW.
Required conditions for such an installation:
a kitchen room with a height of at least 2.2 m with the presence of natural light (regardless of the presence of the stove);
the area of the inlet shall be at least 0.025 m²;
in the rooms of kitchens integrated into the structure of the living room, only heat generators with a closed combustion chamber are allowed to be installed.
Thermal power of convectors installed in residential premises should not exceed 7.5 kW. At the same time the premises must be equipped with a control of gas concentrations.
